The Living Room

March 21 - July 5, 2026
Let us become capable of generating a living culture once again.
Let us dream of a wild earth, teeming with life and richness.
We are not bereft. We are not alone. We are part of this dreaming Earth.
— Francis Weller

This spring, the museum’s Mary Sommer Room becomes The Living Room — a welcoming place to slow down, settle in, and spend time with art and one another. Visitors are invited to read, talk, and enjoy This Dreaming Earth, an immersive fiber environment by local artist Amber Paris.

Paris’s work asks us to imagine a thriving world and reflect on our place within it. Inspired by the forests of southern Vermont, Paris brings curiosity, collaboration, and a love of meaningful questions into the space. Throughout the installation, visitors will find opportunities to engage creatively and share ideas, making the work a living exchange shaped by community participation and the contributions of local artists.
