Junior Museum Guides

We love when our young community members feel a sense of ownership and belonging at BMAC. With that in mind, we are delighted to offer kids up to age 12 the opportunity to become Junior Museum Guides.

There are two ways to become a Junior Museum Guide:

  1. Visit the museum as part of a school field trip.
  2. Take part in a free 90-minute training session offered from time to time by members of the BMAC education staff.

After taking part in a school field trip or special training session, students receive a personalized Junior Museum Guide card, which authorizes them to lead their own tours of BMAC during regular museum hours, for whomever they wish.

When Junior Museum Guides arrive at the museum to lead tours, they are given a special badge to wear, so that other visitors will know they are officially “on duty.” They also get their Junior Museum Guide card punched to keep track of the number of tours they’ve given and earn special rewards over time.
