Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

BMAC is proud to serve as the Vermont affiliate for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a prestigious national program that recognizes and nurtures the creative talents of teen artists and writers. In addition to seeing their work in print or displayed in a museum, students can win college scholarships and other prizes.

Students in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) are eligible to enter creative work in art and/or writing in 27 categories. There is no limit to the number of entries that an individual may submit, as long as the work was done in calendar year 2026. (Senior portfolios may contain work created the previous year.)

Vermont entries will be judged regionally by teams of experts in the fields of art and writing. Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention awards will be exhibited at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center the following spring. An awards ceremony celebrates the winners on the last day of the exhibition.
