Opening Celebration: Ask the River
Join us for the opening celebration of this community-driven exhibit, on view from February 15 to March 7.
At a time of human-driven climate change and vulnerability, Ask the River is a community art and creative placemaking project, part of an ongoing collaboration by artists Elizabeth Billings, Evie Lovett, and Andrea Wasserman. The initiative is designed to empower viewers to reconnect with the Connecticut River and its watershed.
Community-made cyanotype postcards immerse visitors in the flow and patterns of the river. Viewers are encouraged to write messages on the postcards and place them within the exhibit. Postcards will be sent to the addressed recipients at the end of the exhibit.
Ask The River becomes a call and response, merging many different perspectives on the river through images and words.
