The Making of Northern Borders

Vermont director, producer, and screenwriter Jay Craven will show Marlboro student Petey Petersen’s half-hour behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Craven’s feature-length film, Northern Borders. The film was shot last spring in Marlboro, Guilford, Chester, and Chesterfield as part of the Movies From Marlboro film intensive. Craven will discuss the innovative partnership between Marlboro College and Kingdom County Productions, where 20 professionals collaborated with 34 students and recent grads from 15 colleges.

Northern Borders is based on Howard Frank Mosher’s unconventional coming-of-age story and stars Academy Award nominees Bruce Dern and Genevieve Bujold, along with 12 year-old actor, Seamus Davey Fitzpatrick (Moonrise Kingdom).

Admission: $5 adults, seniors, and students; free for BMAC members and children under 6.

Note: Northern Borders will premiere on Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m., at Brattleboro’s Latchis Theater. Tickets and information at www.KingdomCounty.org.
