Symposium: Immigrant Artists in Vermont
Date + Time
Location
What has drawn immigrant artists to Vermont over the past two centuries? How has Vermont shaped their work, and how have these artists, in turn, shaped Vermont's evolving cultural identity?
Through presentations, panel discussions, and audience Q&A, this symposium explores the experiences and contributions of immigrant artists in Vermont, from the stonecutters of Barre and Proctor and the founders of Marlboro Music to influential puppeteers and generations of landscape painters.
Four sessions on Saturday will be followed by an evening celebration featuring food and performances. A concluding panel on Sunday will bring together immigrant artists living and working in Vermont today to reflect on their experiences and look toward the future.
Additional details will be announced.
