Bob Boemig created Land Lift as part of a temporary, six-month exhibition in 1993, and it has graced the museum’s front lawn ever since.
Based in Brattleboro, Vermont, Boemig has been creating outdoor sculptures and land art for museums, universities, municipalities, and private property owners for over 50 years. Past installations have included the deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum, Hood Museum of Art, Marlboro College, and Williams College, among others. A permanent installation, The Fiddlehead, can be seen on the grounds of Brattleboro’s Retreat Farm.
