The Living Room: Art, Craft, and Nature in Costa Rica
Welcome to The Living Room! This spring, we’ve temporarily transformed the museum’s Mary Sommer Room into a comfy space for visitors to hang out, read, chat, and enjoy rotating displays of community artwork.
For the past three years, BMAC has led an arts-focused trip to the popular eco-tourism destination of Costa Rica. Our annual excursion explores the vibrant contemporary arts, crafts, and culinary scenes of Costa Rica’s capital city, and then heads into the countryside to sample the natural wonders of the Pacific coast and the cloud forests of the central highlands. Our next trip to Costa Rica is scheduled for January 2025. Visit brattleboromuseum.org to learn more.
The artwork on view in The Living Room is by Costa Rican artists involved with our trip, and by some of the travelers. We are deeply grateful to Ken Klothen for developing BMAC’s ARTravel trip to Costa Rica and for assisting with this display.
