Hidden in the Hills: Applewoods Studio & Gallery

BMAC members are invited to a private tour of Applewoods Studio & Gallery, featuring the work of studio woodworkers David and Michelle Holzapfel. 

David and Michelle Holzapfel met at Marlboro College in 1969 and established their Marlboro, Vermont, studio in 1976. David’s work is in numerous public and private collections and has been featured in The Christian Science Monitor, House Beautiful, American Woodworker, and Vermont Magazine. He taught at the Marlboro School from 1989 to 2015 and was the 2014 recipient of the Victor R. Swenson Award for outstanding humanities educators.

Michelle’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the U.S., Australia, and Europe and featured in House Beautiful, American Craft, Woodworking, and Fine Woodworking. In 2017, she was a featured artist in PBS’s Craft in America. She is a 2019 United States Artists Fellow in Craft.
