Artist Talk: Paul Shore (Licked, Sucked, Stacked, Stuck)

January 27, Thursday, 7:30 p.m.

Artist Paul Shore, whose work is showcased in Licked, Sucked, Stacked, Stuck, will give a slide talk on the development of his work over the past 25 years. Whether working in expressionist figuration or eccentric abstraction, Shore tends to explore issues of intimacy, and over the past 15 years, particularly with his Funnel and Braid series of sculptures and drawings, he gives a nod to Surrealism, using forms that convey both male and female qualities.

Paul Shore lives and works in New York City. He has taught at Williams College, Hartford Art School, and Marlboro College, among others. He has been in residence at MacDowell Colony, Blue Mt. Center, Ragdale, and VCCA.

Admission: $6 adults, $4 seniors, $3 students, free for BMAC members and children under 6
