Kaori Hamura- Dream Seasons

August 9, 2008 - November 16, 2008

Through whimsical paintings by Vermont artist Kaori Hamura, we enter a world of magical places and playful characters. Dream Seasons, a picture book without words and for all ages, merges universal symbolism with elements of Japanese myths and Hamura’s childhood memories. Born in Fukuoka, Japan and graduated from the Parsons School of Design, Hamura’s animation and publication credits include MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Downtown, and magazine illustrations for New York Press, Time Out, Interview Magazine, Mademoiselle, Cosmo Girl, and Boston Weekly Dig among others. Her pilot animation Bootie Boogie, created for Oxygen Media, won a Silver Award in the E-Culture category at the 2003 Society of Illustrator’s Annual Awards in Los Angeles.
