For students in grades 7-12
Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is proud to be the Vermont Affiliate for this prestigious program that offers exhibition and publishing opportunities for young writers and artists, as well as scholarships for enrichment and collegiate study. The Awards have an impressive legacy and a noteworthy roster of past winners, including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford, Joyce Carol Oates and Myla Goldberg.
Student art and writing are judged for the following criteria: originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal vision or voice. These are works that go beyond a classroom assignment.
