Art Raffle: Bruce Campbell

Drawing: October 5

Artist Bruce Campbell and Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts have generously donated Campbell’s exquisite kinetic sculpture Holdfast to be raffled off by BMAC this summer. Made out of brass and steel mounted on a wood base, Holdfast measures 19.5 x 11.5 x 8 inches and is valued at $2,800.

“My ideas for kinetic sculpture usually begin as a question,” says Campbell. “For example, how can I show a certain concept of the universe? They attempt to illustrate, in the simplest way possible, conditions and events of the natural world. In showing a falling star, a lunar eclipse, or a rainstorm, I am trying to represent, in minimalist and transparent form, my perception of the universe—how the universe might be visualized if moved by gears, levers, and basic mechanics.”

Holdfast was recently exhibited at Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts.

Raffle tickets are $30 each or 4 for $100. Only 100 tickets will be sold. Purchase tickets online or call Eliza Rudegeair at 802-257-0124, ext. 101.

Drawing will take place Friday, October 5 or as soon as all tickets have been sold. The winner need not be present at the drawing.
