The final selection of artists and artwork to be included in In the Zone III will be made by Williams after studio visits have taken place. Note: Receiving a studio visit does not guarantee that a finalist’s work will be selected for inclusion.
JUROR
Christine Temin covered visual and performing arts for over two decades as a critic for the Boston Globe. She has interviewed and reviewed such artists as Jenny Holzer, John Cage, Robert Indiana, Rachel Whiteread, Richard Serra, Yoshio Tanaguchi, Robert Wilson, and Doug and Mike Starn. She is particularly interested in the intersection of public art and architecture. She currently writes for a variety of publications, including Art New England, Sculpture, and American Craft.
EXHIBITION, INSTALLATION AND DE-INSTALLATION
In the Zone III will be exhibited at BMAC April 1 – July 3, 2011.
Artists must deliver or ship their work to BMAC at the end of March, 2011 (schedule to be arranged at a later date). Two-dimensional work must be framed in advance or otherwise made ready for simple installation. Artists whose work involves complex installation will be expected to facilitate the installation process in person. Any specialized projection or other technical equipment must be supplied by the artist. After the exhibition closes, artists must retrieve or arrange for shipment of their work from BMAC, assisting with complex de-installation as necessary, during the week of July 5-10, 2011.
All costs associated with delivery, pickup, or shipment of artwork to/from BMAC, as well as any costs associated with the purchase, rental, or use of specialized equipment not available at BMAC, must be borne by the artist.
All artwork will be fully insured by BMAC while it is on museum premises.
