Lumberland

It all started with a walk in the park…

A few years ago, artist Andy Yoder came upon a group of picnic tables in a state park. They were stacked upright and chained for the winter. Something about that sight bothered him and ultimately triggered the installation Lumberland. Created specifically for BMAC, Lumberland consists of seven commercially-made picnic tables stacked seemingly haphazardly one on top of the next, inscribed exotic-wood planks, and heavy rope… in a small room.
