An Architectural & Culinary Tour to Turkey

Wednesday October 8 - 18, 2008

If you are interested in architecture, art, history, religion, and contemporary culture, Turkey must be on your short list of places to go. BMAC and Threshold Tours will take 14 travelors to three of the most remarkable areas of Turkey: Istanbul, Ephesus, and Cappadocia.
You will begin your travels in Byzantium/Istanbul, the city of King Darius, Alexander the Great, Emperor Constantine, Sultan Mehmet II, and Suleyman the Magnificent. The beauty of the monuments, the energy and friendliness of the people, and a sense of greatness surround you. Ephesus, a global trading port of 250,000 in its heyday, is an extremely well-preserved city, and the facade of the Library of Celsus is breathtaking. Finally, fascinating Cappadocia! The landscape is one of “fairy chimneys” and secret underground dwellings, churches, and “lives lived long ago.”
You will hike, attend a sema (whirling dervishes ritual), meet artists, stay in historic hotels, and eat very well. A professional Turkish guide will travel with you to tell stories, teach, and lead you deep into Turkish culture.
Carole & Geof Gaddis of Threshold Tours will be your tour organizers. For more information, including a detailed itinerary and pricing, contact Threshold Tours at (802) 387-6672,  gaddis@thresholdtours.com or visit www.thresholdtours.com.
