Slide Talk: Four Generations of African-American Quiltmakers

Quilt collector Heather Korostoff Murray introduces African-American improvisational quilts. Discussing the unique qualities of these extraordinary textiles and their possible African connections, Murray focuses on the lives and work of the four women in the current BMAC exhibit Will the Circle Be Unbroken. She includes striking examples by other significant African-American improvisational quiltmakers in curator Eli Leon’s extensive collection.
