Pierrot Lunaire is a group of poems by the Belgian poet Albert Giraud. Inspired by the poems, and by composer Arnold Schoenberg’s song cycle of 21 of them, Cohen has joined the text of each poem (in English, French, and German) with two images, which he made by printing the same etching plate using the methods of both intaglio and relief.
The Bird Book is an artistic collaboration between Cohen; his wife, Holiday Eames; and several book artisans. Each printed and hand-colored image represents a bird whose name begins with a letter of the alphabet. The rhyming couplet for each page was written by Eames. Related books and hands-on activities accompany the exhibit. Sponsored by Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters
