In the early 1980s, New York City’s East Village was teeming with an alternative art scene, and street artists quickly moved from the periphery to the center of the art world. Three street artists from BMAC’s current exhibit, painters Scot Borofsky and Brian Gormley and sculptor Ken Hiratsuka, talk about their work then and now. The artists’ talk is followed by a release party and signing of the new From Street to Studio catalogue, which documents both street and studio work of these artists. Admission: Regular Museum admission applies: $4 adults; $3 seniors; $2 students; FREE to BMAC members
